"BDRC has developed a series of strategically aligned programs to implement its expanded mission. In the coming years, BDRC will:
- Identify important Buddhist text collections as recommended by our Board of Advisors and create a definitive plan for their preservation.
- Build the Buddhist Universal Digital Archive, an encompassing digital repository and preservation ecosystem to archive and connect many Buddhist text collections in many different languages, starting with Pali, Sanskrit, Chinese, and Tibetan. BUDA will include:
- A central bibliographic database for Buddhist texts based on linked open data.
- A digital archive scanned source texts and searchable eTexts.
- Create an open platform for accessing, sharing and searching the archive using state of the art digital library methodologies.
- Foster a community of scholars, technologists, practitioners, and a global public committed to preservation."
